Hello Neighbors!
There have been more than a couple of big changes to the HOA Board recently and we wanted to make everyone aware. Apologies for the long post ahead but these items are important. Please read until the end. If you have any questions, concerns, comment, or feedback please do not hesitate to reach out the Board via email or phone.
Thank You Neighbors!
A big thank you goes out to everyone that has been spending time in the heat to ensure that their home and yard are in excellent condition!
We recently sent out a notification asking that Neighbors be sure that all maintenance issues with their property have been taken care of. Many of your responded by taking to the yard and handling everything from overgrown shrubs to mold/mildew on the side of your home. We encourage everyone to take a trip around the neighborhood to see the improvements that your neighbors have made to their homes and properties.
The board has performed a maintenance assessment and will be following up on the remaining maintenance issues.
If you have any questions about the assessment please feel contact the HOA by email at: info@mistyglenhoa.org
Covenant Update Project
The covenant update project was slowed to a near halt by COVID. Progress has resumed in the past month as we have received an update about our request for records. We will be receiving all records that have been filed with the county in relation to the HOA. We will then review the records and make any proposed changes necessary to the covenant to bring them current with modern covenant standards. Stay tuned for updates and proposed changes. We are targeting a deadline of the end of the year for this effort.
Board Position Changes
There have been a couple of changes to board membership and the positions that members are filling.
Patrick May has decided to step down as President of the HOA. Patrick has played a pivotal role in the direction and decision made by the HOA Board. We especially want to thank Patrick for opening his home and allowing the HOA to use it for the Summer Bash, Annual Meeting, and multiple HOA Board meetings.
Patrick, on behalf of the Misty Glen HOA Neighbors, thank you for your dedication and service to the Misty Glen HOA community.
Lindsey White has stepped down from her role as Vice President. Lindsey has also played a pivotal role in ensuring the day-to-day tasks and finances of the HOA have been handled. Lindsey sent may hours working on emails, financial reports, etc. to ensure the Board had the information that it needed to make data driven decisions.
Lindsey, on behalf of the Misty Glen HOA Neighbors, thank you for your dedication and service to the Misty Glen HOA community.
To fill the open positions on the board Maurice Monroe is fulfilling the role of President, Gee is filling the position of Vice President, Erin Chud has stepped up to fill the role of Treasurer, and Corey Grant is now fulfilling the role of Secretary. These positions are interim until members can be found to fill these critical positions on the Board.
If you are interested in being considered for a Board position please submit an application on the website by clicking here.
We welcome any and all Neighbors to join the Board!
Open Board Positions
The Board has performed an assessment of essential board functions and developed a plan to ensure that all essential duties are performed. To this end, the Board has asked for quotes from multiple property management companies to ascertain if it financially viable to consider a property management company in the event that there are not enough Board members to perform essential duties .
The Board has decided that it would be viable to higher a management company in the event that the essential positions of the board are not occupied. While the Board does not like the idea of having a company manage our neighborhood we do feel that it is necessary to ensure that essential duties are performed as expected by the community.
In the event that a property management company would be needed to perform HOA functions it would be necessary to increase annual HOA dues. Please keep in mind that this would be a last resort and is not the preferred solution. The current Board intends to make every effort to ensure that this does not occur as we are aware that many of you do not want HOA dues to increase under any circumstance.
To ensure that we do not need to higher a property management company we ask for involvement from the community.

Yard of the Season Cancelled
As much as we hate to announce this we will be discontinuing the Yard of the Season program. Thank you to everyone that participated! We hope that we might be able to re-visit this program in the future but due to funds needed for the covenant update project and other fiscal responsibilities we have decided to cancel this program.
Front Entrance Maintenance: Mulch
New mulch has been delivered! As a cost saving measure the Board has opted to task on the task of spreading the mulch themselves. Please bear with us as we are working on getting the mulch spread in stages. As it would turn out, it’s hard work especially during the heat of July.
THANK YOU very mulch to every one that helped out! ;)
Past Due HOA Assessment Fees
We are still working to collect past due assessment fees for 2019 and beyond. If you are past due you should have received a letter from the HOA stating as such. We are continuing to hold all late fees until September in light of COVID. Another notification about past due accounts will be sent out in September.
If you have any questions regarding the standing of your account please contact the HOA via email at: info@mistyglenhoa.org
